Morena Ramoreboli reacts to defending the Botswana Premier League title

SA coach Morena Ramoreboli has reacted after successfully defending the Botswana Premier League title this season with Jwaneng Galaxy.

Ramoreboli joined the Botswana giants in 2021 ahead of the 2021/22 campaign. On Saturday, 25 May, Ramoreboli added another piece of silverware to the team’s trophy cabinet.

It was a tight three-horse race as Galaxy, Township Rollers and Gaborone United were all eyeing the title. Galaxy clinched it after collecting 65 points, Rollers were second with 64 points and Gaborone United managed to get 63 points.

As a result, Galaxy will be participating in the CAF Champions League next season. In addition, Ramoreboli can make history by completing a double in Botswana by winning the Orange FA Cup.

Galaxy are in the final of the competition and they will face Orapa United on Saturday, 1 June.

The 2023 Bafana Bafana COSAFA Cup coach is delighted to successfully defend the league title in Botswana. He admitted that it was a tough season and that competition has improved a lot in the league compared to last campaign.

“I’m very happy honestly speaking, I think we did good work,” Ramoreboli told FARPost. “It was all about being committed, being consistent and willing to get the positive results.

“We can only thank God because the season was very tough for everyone. This time we had to dig deep and we managed to get positive results.

“The competition was very high, we played a lot of matches, there was a lot of football to be played.
I think there’s still a lot of work to be done and there’s still room for improvement from our side.

“I’m very proud of what we managed to achieve this season. It was a good team effort on and off the pitch.”
