Sekhukhune United show interest in AmaTuks talented defender

DStv Premiership side Sekhukhune United have shown interest in the services of a talented AmaTuks defender for the next season.

Babina Noko are set to make changes to their squad after the conclusion of the 2023/24 campaign this past weekend.

Sekhukhune United finished the season in fourth position on the log standings after accumulating 45 points. The Limpopo-based side won 12 games in the league, drawing nine while losing nine times in 30 matches.

Sekhukhune has already set their sights on the next season with an interest in signing Sikhosonke Langa. He has been one of the key players for the Motsepe Foundation Championship side Tuks after playing 28 matches across all competitions.

The highly-rated wing-back was part of the Tuks team that made it to the 2024 Nedbank Cup Quarter-finals where they lost against Mamelodi Sundowns.

Langa has been earmarked to add depth to the left-back position at Sekhukhune. They have Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya, Lebohang Mabotja and the young Asekho Tiwani fighting for the position.

“Sikhosonke Langa is wanted by Sekhukhune United to fill the depth in the left-back position,” a source told FARPost.

“If you can look at the left-back position at Sekhukhune, you can see that they have been a bit thin. That’s why they have started using Asekho Tiwani who was promoted from the DStv Diski Challenge.

“So AmaTuks have never stood in the way of anyone who wants to move for greener pastures. They always allow players to make moves to the DStv Premiership clubs.”

Meanwhile, the Simon Malatji-owned have players like Sibusiso Vilakazi, Kgomotso Mosadi, Daniel Cardoso, Edwin Gymah and Collins Makgaka who are facing uncertain futures.
