Stanley Nwabali drops major hint about his future
Following the conclusion of the 2023/24 DStv Premiership campaign, Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has dropped a major hint about his future.
The Nigerian international managed to play 29 matches across all competitions for the Gqeberha-based outfit. In those 29 games, he kept 12 clean sheets and conceded 27 goals.
Nwabali has been linked with several clubs following his outstanding performances during the 2023 CAF Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] held in the Ivory Coast.
The Super Eagles finished as runners-up of the African prestigious tournament, having lost 2-1 to the hosts, Ivory Coast, in the final.
Some of the teams interested in his services include Al Ettifaq in Saudi and Queens Park Rangers from the UK.
The 27-year-old shot-stopper helped Chippa to finish this season in a better position without stressing about relegation. The Chilli Boys ended this term in 12th place on the log standings with 34 points after 30 games.
WHAT’S THE MAJOR HINT THROWN BY STANLEY NWABALI ABOUT HIS FUTURE
Speaking after their 1-0 loss to Sekhukhune United at Buffalo City Stadium, Nwabali revealed that he would like to join other big teams to grow in his football career and as an individual.
“Well, everyone would love to leave because when you are in some position, you need to grow,” said Nwabali.
“Like everyone in my position would like to grow more. I’m talking about clubs higher than this [bigger than Chippa United] because I have been giving my all to my club this season.
“I just wish to have another challenge at some other place.”
