Themba Zwane gets candid about heartfelt talk with Maswanganyi

Mamelodi Sundowns star Themba Zwane has opened up on his heartfelt talk with Orlando Pirates attacker Patrick Maswanganyi.

Maswanganyi has had an impressive season in the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season for Pirates after signing from SuperSport United in July 2023.

In his maiden Pirates season, he won the hearts of the Bucs faithful with his flair and goal contribution.

He helped the Buccaneers clinch the 2023 MTN8 title earlier in the season. Interestingly, they beat Mamelodi Sundowns on penalties at Moses Mabhida Stadium to lift the coveted trophy.

Meanwhile, the 26-year-old also helped the Soweto giants to finish second on the log standings. That secured them qualification for the CAF Champions League next season. Maswanganyi has amassed 39 games across all competitions, scoring nine goals and providing 12 assists.

The Stars of Africa Academy product has also been earmarked to replace Themba Zwane in the Bafana Bafana colours as ‘Mshishi’ is reaching the climax of his career.

Interestingly, Zwane and Maswanganyi will face off in the 2024 Nedbank Cup final at Mbombela Stadium this coming Saturday.
