Ex-Amakhosi defender reveals Kaizer Chiefs’ 4 fatal flaws

A former Kaizer Chiefs defender has revealed 4 fatal flaws that have seen the once mighty Amakhosi decline in the last decade.

This comes after the Soweto giants finished their ninth season without silverware. To make things worse, the Glamour Boys failed to secure the Top 8 spot on the last day of the DStv Premiership when they suffered a 2-0 loss to Cape Town Spurs in their last game of the season.

The last time Chiefs won a major trophy was back in 2015 when they lifted the PSL title under the tutelage of Stuart Baxter. But since then, the Soweto giants have failed to bring back their glory days.

WHAT ARE THE 4 FLAWS DAVID KANNEMEYER PINPOINTS AT KAIZER CHIEFS

Ex-Chiefs player David Kannemeyer has pinpointed four areas where the problem lies at the club, insisting that the problem “starts at the top” with management.

He believes a lack of planning, a culture issue, the absence of a clear philosophy and poor scouting are the four issues affecting.

“There is no planning at Kaizer Chiefs. The culture is gone. There is no philosophy. There is no scouting,” said Kannemeyer on Radio 2000 on Tuesday night.

“My former club needs an overall clean-up. Players must also take responsibility. They seem to have no clue who they’re playing for.

“The problems at Chiefs start at the top. I think the sporting director [Kaizer Motaung Jr] needs assistance. You need a proper football person like Muhsin Ertugral. We don’t look like Chiefs.”

Kannemeyer is not the only former Chiefs player to have criticised the state the club is in and the current Amakhosi troops. Some of those ex-players include Tlou Molekwane, Junior Khanye, Jabu Mahlangu, and Mike Rapatsa.
