Seven PSL clubs circle around CT Spurs left-back

Seven PSL clubs are angling to acquire the services of a highly-rated Cape Town Spurs left-back, FARPost can reveal.

Cape Town Spurs recently parted ways with coach Ernst Middendorp due to their restrictive financial situation and after the club was relegated back to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Middendorp was brought in during the second half of the PSL season in an attempt to help CT Spurs avoid relegation.

Sadly, his mission was impossible, as the Urban Warriors failed to improve and ultimately could not avoid the axe after just one season in the SA elite league.

Middendorp presided over 19 DStv Premiership games for CT Spurs. The German coach managed to secure only five wins and five draws. And they lost nine times. As a result, they ended the campaign with 23 points at the bottom of the log standings, resulting in their relegation.

Ahead of their life in the lower tier league, they are likely to lose several players. Boitumelo Radiopane might return to his parent club, Orlando Pirates.

SEVEN PSL CLUBS TARGETING GADIEL KAMAGI

And it has emerged that Gadiel Kamagi who spent the just-ended season on loan at CT Spurs from Tanazian Premier League side Singida Fountain Gate FC is being targeted by seven clubs in the PSL.

The 27-year-old’s stay in the club’s books will officially end on June 30. After joining the club in January, he made 12 appearances, with two under his belt.

“Seven PSL clubs want him. It’s still internal so I can’t reveal the names. But he is definitely not staying at Cape Town Spurs,” Singida FC president Japhet Makau told FARPost.

However FARPost understands that Sekhukhune United, AmaZulu FC, Orlando Pirates and Chippa United are some of the interested clubs.

Makau did not rule out the fact that his player might return to Tanzania to continue with his career. In few appearances, Kamagi who also played for Simba SC, Young Africans, and Azam FC appears to have charmed big clubs.
