A handful of players is reportedly lining up to leave Thwihli Thwahla due to challenges that the club has endured.

It was expected that the KZN outfit would have an underwhelming season as they havenโ€™t been signing players since the June 2023.

They were handed a transfer ban by FIFA on the back of their failure to pay their former striker Samir Nurkovic, who they owed R12 million.

The club had even welcomed some trialists ahead of the start of the season including Nkanyiso Zungu and Mxolisi Mkhonto. However, they couldnโ€™t sign them due to the ban.

Masukuโ€™s exit will come as a surprise as Royal AM were expected to go out of their way to retain the services of the 31-year-old as heโ€™s been one of their key players, especially as they canโ€™t make new signings.

The Durban-born, Masuku has been with Royal AM since they bought the clubโ€™s status from Bloemfontein Celtic before the start of the 2021/22 season.

During his stint at the club [including at Celtic], he has racked up to 132 appearances, scoring 14 goals and providing 17 assists.

He becomes the third man to depart with Shaune Mogaila having left in January after the two parties couldnโ€™t agree on a new deal and Shane Roberts is also on his way out upon his contract expiration this month.

Meanwhile, Thabo Matlaba and Jabulani Ncobeni, also have an uncertain future with the Pietermaritzburg-based club with his contract expiring in June.
