AmaZulu FC make first signing ahead of 2024/25 season

Having already parted ways with three players, AmaZulu FC have made their first signing ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Under the new leadership of Pablo Franco Martin, AmaZulu’s recently completed season fell short of expectations. The campaign envisioned as a turnaround for the club saw Usuthu struggle to produce the desired results.

They ended the 2023/24 campaign in the 11th position, two spots away from the top eight.

They last finished within the top half of the table in the 2021/22 season, where they ended in 7th position and went on to play the MTN8 final in the following season.

Usuthu will surely look to bounce back next season with Martin also seemingly staying put with his technical team.

AmaZulu have acquired the services of striker Senzo Ndlovu from the Eastern Cape ABC Motsepe League side Sinenkani FC. The third-tier side confirmed this on its social media platforms.

Nicknamed “Mbhobho,” Ndlovu impressed last season, scoring 23 goals for Sinenkani. He further shone during the Khabba Cup – the off-season tournament in Durban, emerging as the top goalscorer and helping Two For Joy lift the trophy.

STATEMENT FROM SINENKANI FC

“Sinenkani FC wishes to inform the Stubborn Nation that our striker Senzo “Mbhobho” Ndlovu has signed with PSL’s Amazulu FC,” Sinenkani confirmed with the statement.

“We congratulate him on this signing and we wish him all the best in professional football.

“Mbhobho scored a record 23 goals this season alone, while playing for Sinenkani FC.

“This should serve as an inspiration for other young players in the team.”

In the striking department, Ndlovu joins Victor Letsoalo and Junior Dion. Usuthu recently parted ways with the Nigerian forward Augustine Kwem after the end of his contract.

They also parted company with the midfielder George Maluleka and the defender Veluyeke Zulu.
