‘I’m not interested in your bogus loyalty’: Dan Malesela

PSL coach Dan Malesela has sent a stern warning to SA football club owners against what he says are ‘Mathulatšatšing’, loosely translated as chancers, who lie to get jobs.

Malesela recently had a public fallout with promotion hopefuls Baroka FC.

Despite taking the club from relegation to the PSL Promotional/Relegation Playoffs, Malesela has been placed on suspension after one match in the playoffs. Baroka have since hired former Chippa United Technical Director Morgan Mammila as interim coach.

“Mathulatšatšing [chancers] are always employed because they are transporting lies to club owners,” Malesela told FARPost

FORMER BAROKA FC COACH HITS BACK TO THOSE WHO PUSHED HIM OUT OF HIS JOB

“Puppets who are not contributing to the progress [of the game] are always working. But [they] have never been asked of their roles. Coaches come and go; they remain.

“They run around talking to someone during the matches as to who must be substituted. They have ample access to the chairman’s office. Their opinions only come after the match and only to the chairman,” he said without mentioning names.”

WHY DAN MALESELA IS SENDING A WARNING TO CLUB OWNERS TO BE VIGILANT

“Club chairmen must be aware of their so-called loyal servants. What is painful is that clubs with such people don’t win anything. They even stop employment before it’s made; they know the life of a coach the chairman wants to employ for the new season. They will discredit you, particularly if you are South African, and yet they never worked with you. Everything from them is hearsay.

“They always think that you know their shoddy ways. Clubs may have inquired about me by now because pre-season may start next week, but they haven’t because Mathula-tjatjing has already rubbished me somehow,” added Malesela who won the 2019 Nedbank Cup with TS Galaxy.

“Clubs are losing good people and are always stuck with these people who will earn salaries for years with no contributing because they are seen to be loyal. I’m not interested in your bogus loyalty but your contribution to the progress of all of us. This truth will not be well received in many quarters. God will not forgive me if I don’t tell this truth. God bless us all. Progress for the PSL and South African football.”
