DONE DEAL: Keletso Makgalwa completes move to DStv Prem side

Upington City FC winger Keletso Makgalwa has completed a transfer move to a DStv Premiership side for the 2024/25 DStv Premiership season.

Makgalwa was one of the outstanding performers in the 2023/24 Motsepe Foundation Championship season after scoring 11 goals in 23 matches.

The exciting attacker joined Upington City on a free transfer in October 2023 following his exit from Mamelodi Sundowns. After just one season in the second-tier league, his good performances have attracted interest from different teams in the SA top-flight.

The 27-year-old winger was on the wishlist of Sekhukhune United and Richards Bay FC during the January transfer window. However, Upington City were not willing to sell as they were fighting for promotion to the Premiership at the time.

Meanwhile, Chippa United also tabled an offer to sign Makgalwa a few days ago as they tried to lure the star to the Eastern Cape.

WHICH TEAM DID KELETSO MAKGALWA SIGN FOR?

This publication has learnt that Keletso Makgalwa has completed a move to the Limpopo-based side Sekhukhune United.

Babina Noko moved swiftly to snap up the skilful winger as his contract at Upington City was coming to an end on the 30th of June, 2024.

Sekhukhune United beat Chippa United, Richards Bay FC and Magesi FC, who recently enquired about the availability of Makgalwa.

The deal puts all rumours to bed after several media houses reported that the former SA’s junior international signed a pre-contract with Kaizer Chiefs in January.

“It’s a done deal; Keletso Makgalwa will be playing in the DStv Premiership for Sekhukhune United next season,” a source told FARPost.

“Makgalwa has been one of the top-performing players in the NFD, and he will add value to Sekhukhune with his goal contribution.”
