Morena Ramoreboli addresses Jwaneng Galaxy future amid Sekhukhune links
SA-born coach Morena Ramoreboli has addressed his future with Botswana Premier League giants Jwaneng Galaxy amid links with Sekhukhune United.
Ramoreboli is heavily linked to Sekhukhune United who are in the market for a new coach after parting ways with Lehlohonolo Seema last week.
The highly-rated coach arrived at Galaxy with a two-year contract in his hand, ready to etch his name in the club’s history. The 2021/22 season, his first at the club, saw him guiding his squad to a respectable third-place finish, showcasing his tactical prowess.
But Ramoreboli wasn’t done there. He orchestrated a historic feat, leading Galaxy to their maiden appearance in the prestigious CAF Champions League group stages.
The following season, the 43-year-old mentor transformed promise into glory. With a determined spirit, he steered Galaxy to their first-ever Botswana league title. But Ramoreboli’s hunger for success didn’t wane. The just-concluded 2023/24 campaign became a masterclass in dominance. Under his astute leadership, Galaxy achieved a remarkable double, clinching both the league title and the Orange FA Cup.
However, Ramoreboli’s contract at the club expires in the coming weeks. Last July, Galaxy’s management offered the Free State-born coach a one-year contract.
MORENA RAMOREBOLI ON HIS FUTURE AT JWANENG GALAXY
In an interview with FARPost, the 2023 Bafana Bafana COSAFA Cup stand-in coach revealed that talks of a new contract have already started between the club and his agent.
He further cited that if an agreement is reached, an official announcement will be made. They are aiming to seal the deal as fast as they can. This will help the team to start planning for the upcoming 2024/25 season.
After completing a double, the club may want to tie down Ramoreboli with a lengthy contract, which will see him at the club for more seasons to come.
“They [Jwaneng Galaxy management] are busy talking with my agent,” said Ramoreboli. “Once there is an agreement between the two parties, then I will be told.
“At this point, the negotiations have started. Soon, we will know what the future holds for me at the club. It’s a great club, we are getting better and improving season-by season. The work and time that we’ve invested here is a lot.
“I think we can only become better as people can see what are trying to do or what we are trying to achieve here.”
