Ex-Celtic star linked with Ramoreboli’s Galaxy technical team

A former Bloemfontein Celtic star is linked with Jwaneng Galaxy, where he is expected to join Morena Ramoreboli’s technical team.

The revered coach has been excelling in the Botswana Premier League as Ramoreboli has helped Jwaneng Galaxy retain the PSL title.

Plausibly, he stirred them as they accounted for their first Orange FA Cup over the weekend. They reached the final of the Orange FA Cup five times, in 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024 respectively.

And they only managed to win it this year, beating Orapa United 2-1, as the stocky SA coach lived up to his billing once again. However, they are leaving no stone unturned in becoming serial champions in Botswana.

WHO IS THE EX-CELTIC STAR LINKED WITH JWANENG GALAXY

FARPost has learnt that Galaxy are on the verge of adding Joel Mogorosi, a former Bloemfontein Celtic star, as an assistant coach to strengthen Morena Ramoreboli’s technical team.

Mogorosi has been unattached since January when he parted ways with Township Rollers. The former Zebras star was supposed to resume duties after the festive season break but did not return after contract extension talks stalled.

JWANENG GALAXY’S EVENTFUL 2023/24 SEASON

Last month, Ramoreboli helped Jwaneng Galaxy complete back-to-back league wins. They beat Orapa United 1-0 on the final day to seal the title win. Galaxy went into the final day sitting on 62 points, with Township Rollers and Gaborone United breathing down their necks on 61 and 60 points, respectively.

As such, Galaxy finished the league with 65 points, one point less than when they won the title in the 2022/23 season.

Ramoreboli continues to make good strides, as his Galaxy side became the first team from Botswana to reach the group stages of the CAF Champions League.

Along the way, they knocked out DStv Premiership giants Orlando Pirates and they now have another shot at the CAF Champions League.

Last time out, they made their second appearance in the Champions League competition. Crucially, they had key moments, including beating Moroccan giants Wydad AC.
