No Andy Boyeli for Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly dismissed any interest in acquiring Congolese striker Andy Boyeli and he could join another DStv Premiership club.

After a prolific season with Power Dynamos, scoring 17 goals in Zambia this season and 18 in the previous term, the Congolese forward has been linked with Amakhosi.

The 23-year-old joined Dynamos from Chambishi Football Club early in 2023. He committed to a two-and-a-half-year term that expires in June 2025.

Besides Chiefs, he has been linked to the Orlando Pirates, with indications his management team offered him to the two Soweto giants. However, the two giants never made any moves to pursue Boyeli.

WHAT POWER DYNAMOS CEO SAID ABOUT KAIZER CHIEFS’ REPORTED INTEREST IN ANDY BOYELI

Dynamos CEO Gibson Chaloba said the club had not received any enquiry from Amakhosi or Pirates.

Andy Boyeli has been a key member of the Power Dynamos side since joining them in early 2023
Congolese forward Andy Boyeli has been a vital asset to Power Dynamos FC since joining the club in early 2023.

“I can categorically state that I’ve never received any enquiry from Kaizer Chiefs regarding Andy Boyeli,” Chaloba told FARPost.

Only two South African clubs have enquired about the forward. Cape Town City and Sekhukhune United are said to be the two clubs that have shown genuine interest.

“At the moment, there’s nothing concrete [from the other clubs that have shown interest],” he said.

Asked if the club was open to sell their key man, he said: “He’s a player we would sell if there’s a proper suitor. If someone has a good offer, we’d consider it. We’ve read rumours. We’ve seen on social media [that our player is linked to Chiefs and Pirates], but basically, there’s nothing. We’re ready to sit and discuss if there’s any suitors.”

Meanwhile, a FARPost source is adamant the talented forward will play his football in the DStv Premiership next season.
