How Sead Ramovic impacted Thato Khiba’s game

TS Galaxy midfielder Thato Khiba has revealed how coach Sead Ramovic has impacted his game since joining the Rockets in the 2023/24 season.

Khiba signed for the Rockets in July 2023 after he cut ties with Marumo Gallants on mutual consent when Bahlabane ba Ntwa were relegated from the DStv Premiership to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

The 27-year-old footballer penned a three-year contract with an option to extend by a further two years with the Mpumalanga-based outfit.

The Kaizer Chiefs product managed to play 24 matches across all competitions in the just-ended PSL campaign.

THATO KHIBA ON SEAD RAMOVIC’S IMPACT

Khiba commended his mentor’s impact since joining the Rockets at the beginning of the 2023/24 term, citing how he pushed him to improve his game and become the better player that he is today.

“Coach Sead is a very hands-on coach. He wants you to push yourself to the best of your ability,” Khiba told FARPost.

“When I came here, I struggled with the club’s density of the training, but I improved with time under his guidance.”

Khiba went on to state that he did not struggle with the change of position, as he joined Galaxy as a right-back from his previous club.

The Serbian mentor, Ramovic, converted Khiba from a right-back position to the central midfielder role.

“I grew up playing as a midfielder, so it was not as bad moving back to that position,” he added. “In all honesty, I don’t have the best position because I am very versatile. So, I believe I can play in any position the coach puts me.”

Khiba was one of the players who played an important role in helping the Tim Sukazi-owned team finish in the Top 8 [sixth place] in this campaign with 44 points after 30 games.
