Ronwen Williams bags top honours at PSL awards

Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Ronwen Williams scooped top honours at the PSL awards, held virtually for the fourth consecutive year on Sunday evening.

The 32-year-old clinched the prestigious PSL Footballer of the Season award, becoming the first shot-stopper to win it since Itumeleng Khune’s triumph in 2013. To cap off a remarkable evening, he added the DStv Premiership Goalkeeper of the Season title to his collection.

Bafana Bafana captain, Ronwen Williams beat his teammate Teboho Mokoena and Stellenbosch FC’s Iqraam Rayners to the coveted award.

Meanwhile, the Brazilians coach Rulani Mokwena capped off a dominant season in the league by claiming the DStv Premiership Coach of the Season award. He emerged victorious over Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro and Stellenbosch FC mentor Steve Barker who were also nominated.
