Daniel Cardoso tips Sekhukhune star for a big move in future

Sekhukhune United defender Daniel Cardoso has tipped one of the club’s stars for a bigger move in the coming seasons.

Cardoso and Co. at Sekhukhune enjoyed a successful 2023/24 PSL season despite coaching instability. The team began the campaign under Brandon Truter, who was relieved of his duties due to unsatisfactory results. Lehlohonolo Seema took the reins but departed at the end of his contract.

Last season, Sekhukhune had their highest-ever finish in the DStv Premiership after ending the campaign fourth on the log standings.

There were some individuals who were consistent and impressive in their performances each time they were playing. This includes the likes of Linda Mntambo, Trésor Tshibwabwa, Siphesihle Mkhize, Elias Mokwana and Badra Ali Sangaré.

DANIEL CARDOSO BACKS TRESOR TSHIBWABWA TO PLAY FOR A BIG CLUB IN FUTURE

Cardoso has backed his partner Tshibwabwa to play for a big team in future. The 25-year-old joined Babina Noko ahead of the 2022/23 PSL season from Zambian side Red Arrows FC.

The DR Congo international has made 37 appearances in all competitions in Sekhukhune colours. He has scored three goals and helped the team keep 17 clean sheets.

“[Yamba Yamba] Trésor Tshibwabwa is a talented player. Many people don’t know how good he is and what he’s capable of doing,” Cardoso told FARPost.

“He’s young, fast, calm, physically strong and well-composed. I hope one day bigger teams come knocking on the door, he still got many seasons to play and I’m sure he will get there [play for a big team]. It can be in the PSL or it can be anywhere, as long it’s a big club in a big league.

“All I’m hoping for is to contribute to his growth as a player. He’s a great player, he’s so young I’m just trying to guide him during his time here at Sekhukhune United.

“We had a good partnership last season, which is still new. Things went well, and we enjoyed a good run of form.”
