Agent addresses Radiopane’s CT Spurs loan talks

Experienced football agent Mike Makaab has responded to reports linking Orlando Pirates striker Boitumelo Radiopane with another loan spell with Cape Town Spurs.

The highly-rated forward was with CT Spurs when they spent just one season in the DStv Premiership before being relegated.

CT Spurs gained promotion from the Motsepe Foundation Championship at the start of the 2023/24 campaign. But the Urban Warriors had a dismal showing in the top-flight, winning just six league matches, drawing five, and losing 19 times. They collected 23 points in 30 matches.

Meanwhile, Radiopane featured in 10 appearances across all without scoring any goal. The Pirates youth product was troubled by injuries for the most part of last season.

This was his second loan stint at the Cape Town Spurs after he was part of the squad that gained promotion to the Premiership in the 2022/23 season.

Radiopane shot to prominence during the 2021/22 season in the DStv Diski Challenge [DDC] with the Buccaneers after scoring 24 goals.

With the 21-year-old striker seemingly on his way back to Pirates for the pre-season, various media houses have reported that CT Spurs have shown interest in keeping Radiopane for next season.

WHAT DID MIKE MAKAAB SAY ABOUT RADIOPANE’S POSSIBLE LOAN MOVE TO SPURS?

However, his agent, Mike Makaab, says it’s ‘highly unlikely’ that the Sebokeng-born attacker will return to CT Spurs for another loan spell.

“The chances of Boitumelo Radiopane going back on loan are highly unlikely. He is with Pirates at the moment, “Makaab told FARPost.

Radiopane will face stiff competition in the striking department from Zakhele Lepasa, Evidence Makgopa and Tshegofatso Mabasa at Pirates.

The trio shared the goal-scoring responsibilities in the previous season when the Soweto sealed a cup double by winning the MTN8 and Nedbank Cup silverware. In addition, they qualified for the CAF Champions League.

Mabasa finished the season as the league’s top goal scorer with 16 goals, while Makgopa scored five. Lepasa netted 10 goals in all competitions before dipping in form in the second half of the season.
