Tshepo Rikhotso ends Sekhukhune United chapter in search for minutes
This publication has it on good authority that defender Tshepo Rikhotso has ended his chapter with Limpopo club Sekhukhune United ahead of the 2024/25 PSL season.
Rikhotso signed for Babina Noko in July 2023, but since the player joined Sekhukhune, he struggled for game time.
In the just-ended DStv Premiership campaign, Rikhotso only managed to feature in six league games. Overall, he made 10 appearances across all competitions for Sekhukhune.
The 31-year-old finally succumbed to a decision to terminate his contract with Babina Noko. The player was unsatisfied with his lack of game time at the club.
TSHEPO RIKHOTSO PART WAYS WITH SEKHUKHUNE UNITED
The player and his agency decided that it was better to look for green pastures elsewhere, as Rikhotso is eager to move to another club where he can play more games.
The defender’s contract with the Limpopo outfit was set to expire in June 2025.
FARPost reached out to the player’s camp, who confirmed that the player terminated his contract with Sekhukhune on mutual consent.
“Yes, we did come to a mutual termination agreement. Remember, Tshepo was not playing, and he’s at an age where he should be playing regularly,” Nimrod Mbhalati from Nida Sports, who’s the player’s agent, told this website.
“But I just want to thank Sekhukhune United for giving us an opportunity in the previous season. Their level of professionalism is top tier, especially sir Jonas what a gentleman.”
Rikhotso is an experienced player who is versatile. He can play as a centre-back and a full-back.
He also represented teams such as Stellenbosch FC, Bloemfontein Celtic and Royal AM.
It remains unclear where the talented defender will head to with the 2024/25 season fast approaching.
