Ex-Baroka coach loses unfair ‘dismissal’ case against the club

A case of unfair ‘dismissal’ by a coach who recently parted ways with Baroka FC has been dismissed with costs by the PSL DRC.

FARPost has established that Bushy Moloi took the club to the PSL DC after he parted ways with them in April 2023, when he resigned.

At that time, Moloi, who was the head coach, was being given a different role at the club. He joined the club on a two-year deal, which was due to expire in June 2024.

He was later replaced by Stanford Nkoane as head coach, which led to his resignation. The developments resulted in Moloi, who is now head coach at Pretoria Callies, taking the matter to the PSL DRC, demanding compensation.

However, in a ruling handed down this week, Moloi’s case was dismissed with costs. Moloi is currently the head coach at fellow Motsepe Foundation Championship club, Pretoria Callies. He helped the club avoid relegation at the end of last season.

WHO WILL BE IN CHARGE AT THE MOTSEPE FOUNDATION CHAMPIONSHIP SIDE NEXT SEASON?

Meanwhile, Baroka FC are yet to issue an update on the future of both interim coach Morgan Mammila as well as suspended coach Dan Malesela. Malesela’s contract comes to an end this month.

The club have launched an investigation into what they say is misconduct but have not charged the 59-year-old. Malesela is unlikely to be retained by the club.

There have been reports that the club intends to continue with Mammila for the upcoming season. Mammila was the CEO when Baroka gained promotion to the elite league in 2015/16. He was recently tasked with helping the club gain promotion via the promotion playoffs but was unsuccessful.

According to local reports, Baroka will not be looking for a new coach and has tasked Mammila with a mandate to return to the DStv Premiership.
