French Coach joins Dylan Kerr on shortlist for Marumo Gallants job

Marumo Gallants’ search for a new head coach has taken an international turn, with a French coach emerging as a strong contender alongside former Swallows FC coach, Dylan Kerr.

Bahlabane Ba Ntwa confirmed the acquisition of Moroka Swallows’ DStv Premiership status on Thursday afternoon following the approval from the PSL.

They also confirmed that they will be moving to Bloemfontein. The Free State Stadium will host their home games. To build a strong team for next season, the club will integrate some players from Swallows with their existing squad.

Now, the next step is to find the coach. This publication understands that Morena Ramoreboli who’s currently spearheading Jwaneng Galaxy was on their radar.

However, it appears that he is likely to remain with the Botswana Premier League champions for another season.

In addition, they are also reportedly speaking to the unnamed French coach. The 57-year-old tactician, Kerr is currently without a club after he left Gallants following their relegation to the Motsepe Foundation Championship last year. The club brought Kerr in to aid a struggling side facing relegation while simultaneously enjoying a strong CAF Confederation Cup run.

However, his entire tenure at Gallants was marred by an unapproved work permit, forcing him to watch from the stands during all matches. He guided the team to the Confederation Cup semi-finals where they were eliminated by Young Africans.

South African clubs with which he has stints include Black Leopards, Baroka FC, and Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.
