Farouk’s plea to Chiefs fans ahead of Nasreddine Nabi appointment
Former Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Farouk Khan has made an impassioned plea to the club’s fans ahead Nassredine Nabi’s appointment as head coach of the club.
Chiefs are implementing significant changes to their technical team. FARPost reported that they’ve acquired the servies of highly-rated coach Nassredine Nabi who will part ways with Morocco’s AS FAR Rabat when the season ends.
In addition, other coaches that will be joining Nabi’s technical team include assistant coach Fernando Da Cruz and and goalkeeper coach Ilyes Mzoughi.
The Soweto giants haven’t been performing in previous seasons in the DStv Premiership and they’ve been making some coaching changes. They’ve brought in the likes of Stuart Baxter, Arthur Zwane, Molefi Ntseki and Cavin Johnson.
Chiefs were known of winning trophies, but now they’ve reached nine years without lifting a single title.
FAROUK KHAN PLEADS WITH CHIEFS FANS TO BE PATIENT WITH THE NEW TECHNICAL TEAM
Khan is asking Amakhosi faithful to support the incoming coaches and have a little bit of patience with them.
In the past, Chiefs supporters got violent when the team was not performing. Coaches like Zwane and Ntseki were attacked after matches following poor results.
“These are highly-rated coaches that are coming in. They’ve got a lot of experience and they will find a way to make sure Chiefs is successful,” Khan told FARPost.
“I understand fans are frustrated, the management is frustrated and the players are frustrated as well. The supporters should support the coaches while they try to settle in. Remember, this is a completely different environment for them, but we’re talking about experienced coaches.
“Chiefs is a big brand, that’s what attracted them [new coaches] to joining the team. At Chiefs there is no time to say, ‘we’re building’, results should start coming as soon as possible.
“I’m sure the management will back the coach with buying the players he wants to fit his system and style of play. But to Chiefs supporters, they should let the coaches settle in without putting too much pressure on them.”
