AS FAR star makes passionate pledge to Chiefs-bound Nasreddine Nabi

AS FAR star Tumisang Orebonye has made a passionate pledge to Kaizer Chiefs-bound Nasreddine Nabi ahead of Monday’s Moroccan Throne Cup final.

The final is set to proceed as planned on July 1st, despite the recent passing of the Moroccan King’s mother. The highly anticipated match between Nabi’s AS FAR and Josef Zinnbauer’s Raja AC will be officiated by Radwan Jiyed. The Royal Moroccan Football Federation has reportedly appointed Jiyed.

AS FAR’s star striker, Tumisang Orebonye, expressed the team’s determination to win the cup for their coach, Nabi, who is set to join the Soweto giants.

WHAT IS TUMISANG OREBONYE’S PLEDGE TO KAIZER CHIEFS-BOUND NASREDDINE NABI?

“We’re all determined to win this trophy considering how we lost out on the league title,” Orebonye told FARPost.

“This is our last chance to end the season with silverware and we want to win it for our coach. How the league title race ended disappointed us, and it disappointed the coach too. But the mood in the camp is very high. Everyone is motivated to get this one.”

The Botswana international, who joined AS FAR in January from USM Alger, started 11 games and made seven substitute appearances. The 28-year-old scored five goals. He emphasised that the team’s focus is solely on the cup final. Orebonye added that there has been no official communication regarding Nabi’s potential departure.

This Throne Cup final carries significant weight for both teams. AS FAR narrowly missed out on the league title to Raja Casablanca. On the other hand, Raja would be eager to win a double. With emotions running high and a trophy on the line, this match promises to be a thrilling encounter. The match, which Agadir will host, kicks off at 18h00 South African time.
