Bernard Parker headlines list of TS Galaxy exits

Former Kaizer Chiefs attacker Bernard Parker is headlining the list of players that have been released by TS Galaxy ahead of the new season.

Parker leaves the club having been offered a position as a co-coach for the reserve team by chairman Tim Sukazi.

Sukazi offered Bernard Parker and Vuyo Mere a chance to coach the DStv Diski Challenge [DDC] team having been the long-serving players in the PSL.

However it has emerged that the duo has been released, headlining the list of players shown the exit door by the Rockets. But Mere is reported to be hanging his boots.

In a series of Facebook posts that were later pulled down, TS Galaxy revealed the seven players leaving the club.

Left-winger Lindokuhle Mbatha has been cut into the wilderness. The 38-year-old had limited game time last season. Goalkeeper Vasilije Kolak of Bosnia-Herzegovina has also parted ways with the club, having played second fiddle to Fiacre Ntwari.

In addition, Galaxy confirmed the departure of rising forward Lehlohonolo Mojela, who is joining Stellenbosch FC.

Mojela was one of the standout performers for The Rockets during the 2023/24 season, helping them achieve a sixth-position finish in the DStv Premiership.

He was signed from Motsepe Foundation Championship side Casric Stars a year ago and had a whirlwind rise under the guidance of coach Sead Ramovic.

Brazillian attacking midfielder Higor Vidal has also been shown the exit door along with along winger Orebotse Mongae. Vidal and Mongae complete the list of players released by the Sukazi owned club.

Meanwhile, Galaxy has already signed Victor Letsoalo, who was among the players signed by AmaZulu FC in the 2023/24 season. But, he struggled to make an impact at the KZN club after scoring three goals in 22 appearances across all competitions.

And Usuthu parted ways with him. Nevertheless TS Galaxy are convinced the 31-year-old still has what it takes to impact in the 2024/25 season.
