Papi Zothwane finds new home
FARPost has it on good authority that former Golden Arrows and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Papi Zothwane has resurfaced at the newly DStv Premiership promoted side, Magesi FC.
This publication has established that Zothwane will join the Limpopo club as an assistant coach. The team aims to be competitive, not just to add numbers in the SA elite league.
Zothwane arrived in Polokwane on Monday, 1 July 2024, to begin his duties and add value to Magesi’s technical team.
At Magesi, Zothwane will work alongside head coach Clinton Larsen and Jackie Ledwaba, who was Larsen’s assistant coach in the just-ended Motsepe Foundation Championship.
PAPI ZOTHWANE COME HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Zothwane is highly recommended as he boasts DStv Premiership and Motsepe Foundation Championship experience.
He joins Magesi following his stint with Black Leopards, another Limpopo outfit competing in the SA second tier.
Before joining Leopards’ technical team, he was the head coach of KwaZulu-Natal ABC Motsepe League team Dlangezwa Hellenic FC.
In addition, Zothwane also coached teams such as Polokwane City FC, where he served as co-coach with Duncan Lechesa, and worked as a head coach at the now-defunct Uthongathi FC, just to mention a few.
Magesi finished at the top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship log standings with 57 points after 30 games, earning themselves automatic promotion to the DStv Premiership. Dikwena Tsa Meetse registered 16 wins, nine draws, and five losses.
Meanwhile, as this website reported, Magesi is currently assessing the ex-Kaizer Chiefs winger Kgaogelo Sekgota as the new season looms large.
As FARPost revealed five days ago, Magesi are also reported to be in advanced talks with another former Chiefs midfielder, Darrel Matsheke.
