Vincent Pule part ways with Orlando Pirates

Orlando Pirates have announced the departure of Vincent Pule after six years at the club. The 32-year-old joined Pirates after four seasons at the now-defunct Bidvest Wits.

Despite enjoying game time in his first three seasons, Pule struggled with game time in his last three years at the club. He only featured nine times in the DStv Premiership during the past season. During his six-year stay at the club, Pule featured on 140 occasions.

“After six wonderful years, Vincent Pule is leaving Orlando Pirates Football Club,” the club announced on Tuesday.

“The 32-year-old came here in 2018 from Bidvest Wits and immediately made an impact for the Mighty Buccaneers. During his time with the club, Vincent went on to record over 140 matches, including 35 goal contributions [goals and assists combined], to cement his legacy for the Soweto giants.”

THE BUCCANEERS DESCRIBE DEPARTING MIDFIELDER AS MODEL PROFESSIONAL   

“On behalf of the entire Orlando Pirates family, we would like to thank Vincent for everything he has done for this football club. A phenomenal player who gave us incredible moments in the field of play while also displaying qualities of a model professional off it.”

Pule is the latest big name player to part ways with the Buccaneers ahead of the new season. The club released striker Kermit Erasmus and Thabang Monare, who has since joined Sekhukhune United.

Ghanaian international goalkeeper Richard Ofori has also left, as well as Siyabonga Mpontshane. The club has also roped in Angolan attacker Giberto from Petro de Luanda.

Pirates have also been linked with a few players including AmaZulu FC left-back Riaan Hanamub. Sekhukhune United and Bafana Bafana winger Elias Mokwana is also one players rumoured to be on the wanted list of the Buccaneers.
