Brian Onyango spotted at DStv Premiership side
Former Mamelodi Sundowns defender Brian Onyango has resurfaced at neighbours SuperSport United, FARPost has learnt.
Onyango was recently let go by Sundowns alongside Gaston Sirino, Bongani Zungu and Thabiso Kutumela. Junior Mendieta is the latest player to leave the club, joining Greek Super League side FC Volos on Thursday.
Onyango joined Masandawana in 2020 from Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila [TTM]. He never kicked a ball for the Limpopo club before Sundowns came knocking. He went on to spend four seasons at Masandawana, where he won four DStv Premiership titles.
The 29-year-old also won the Nedbank Cup and the MTN8 trophies. He struggled for game time during his last season at the club, where he featured three times in the league and four times in both the CAF Champions League and the African Football League.

This publication has established that Onyango arrived at the SuperSport training grounds on Thursday and trained with the team.
The Tshwane side recently parted ways with Bafana Bafana defender Siyanda Xulu and Keegan Allan. Coach Gavin Hunt will certainly be looking to reinforce his defence ahead of the upcoming season.
Another player who recently parted ways with the club is midfielder Phathutshedzo Nange, who has now joined Marumo Gallants.

SuperSport are also said to be leading the race to sign Bafana Bafana midfielder Keagan Dolly, who recently parted ways with Kaizer Chiefs. Dolly spent three seasons at Amakhosi but failed to impress and was sidelined several times due to injuries.
The Tshwane side is reportedly eyeing defender Tandi Mwape TP Mazembe. The 27-year-old is also a Zambian international.
He has played for clubs such as Zesco United and Kabwe Warriors. He was also part of the Chipolopolo squad that finished third in Group F at the AFCON 2023 in Ivory Coast.
