Fadlu Davids poised to take helm at Tanzanian giants Simba SC

Raja Casablanca assistant coach Fadlu Davids looks poised to take the helm at Tanzanian giants Simba SC.

Simba has been in the search for a new coach following the departure of Abdelhak Benchikha in April.

The Algerian Benchikha spent five months before dumping Wekundu wa Msimbazi for undisclosed reasons. According to sources in Tanzania, Davids is the frontrunner for the Simba job. He may be able to join the club for the pre-season, which starts on July 5th, if all goes according to plan.

This move comes on the heels of Davids’ impressive stint as assistant coach at Raja in Morocco, where he played a pivotal role in securing both the league title and the Throne Cup.

The former Maritzburg United coach served as an assistant to German Josef Zinnbauer. The two previously worked together at Orlando Pirates and in Russia at Lokomotiv Moscow.

Davids’ potential appointment at Simba SC marks a significant milestone in his coaching career as he transitions to coach a prominent African club.

Simba SC, renowned for their passionate fan base and competitive spirit, are eager to leverage Davids’ tactical acumen and leadership qualities to further their ambitions in both domestic and continental competitions.

Details of the contract and official announcement are expected to be released shortly following the conclusion of discussions between the ex-Pirates assistant coach Davids and Simba SC management.

FADLU DAVIDS’ TASK TO TOPPLE SIMBA SC’S BITTER RIVALS

Simba’s bitter rivals, Young Africans, have won the Tanzanian Premier League in the last three seasons. The next coach of Simba would be tasked to put an end to Yanga’s dominance.

Timu ya Wananchi this week snapped up Simba’s talisman Clatous Chota Chama, alongside three other signings. The Jangwani boys will be looking to continue their dominance of the Tanzanian game.
