More players head for exit at Richards Bay FC

More players at Richards Bay FC have seemingly parted ways with the club and haven’t rejoined the team for pre-season training.

The Natal Rich Boyz may have been the last team to return for pre-season training as the PSL promotional/relegation playoffs extended their 2023/24 season.

The KZN side had to battle against AmaTuks and Baroka FC in order to retain its DStv Premiership status. They returned to training in the mid-week, but notably, a few players who have understandably departed were absent.

MORE DEPARTURES AT RICHARDS BAY FC

FARPost has learnt that Boikanyo Komane, Katleho Makateng, Khuda Muyaba and Sibusiso Mthethwa have exited the club. Furthermore, the futures of Tercious Malepe and Ntsako Makhubela are uncertain.

Mthethwa and Makateng spent two years with Bay, having joined in 2022 upon the club’s promotion to the top-flight.

Komane, who joined the club at the start of the previous season, ends a one-year stint with the club, while Muyaba has been with the side for only six months.

As previously reported, Richards Bay have already waved goodbyes to Sanele Barns, Abdi Banda, Abel Mabaso and Jackson Mabokgwane.

Moreover, in March, the club parted ways with Lucky Mohomi, Mpho Mathebula, Sakhile Hlongwa and Sinethemba Mngomezulu.

ADDITIONS SO FAR AT THE DSTV PREMIERSHIP CLUB

Preparing for what should be their bounce-back campaign, Richards Bay have made a couple of signings, with FIFA having lifted the transfer ban that the club had been slapped with.

They made two signings – Fezile Gcaba and Sbani Khumalo from the KZN ABC Motsepe League side, Mkhumbane Classic FC. The club also completed the acquisitions of Siyethemba Sithebe, Tlakusani Mthethwa, and Keegan Allan, who were all free transfers after leaving their respective clubs.

The club’s chairman, Sifiso ‘Jomo’ Biyela, also confirmed on UKhozi FM they extended the contracts of Simphiwe Mcineka and Salim Magoola.
