Ex-Orlando Pirates assistant coach Tebogo Moloi has shared his thoughts on his former club’s decision to part ways with attacker Vincent Pule.
A few days ago, Pirates announced that they had decided to part ways with the talented attacker ahead of the new season.
Pule had a year left on his contract after he penned an extension in August 2023, with an option for a further year.
‘Mashonisa’ joined the Soweto giants ahead of the 2018/19 season from the now-defunct Bidvest Wits. In the six seasons he spent at the club, the speedy winger made 146 appearances in all competitions, scoring 23 goals while also registering 12 assists.
The 32-year-old was part of the team that won five titles: three MTN8 titles and two Nedbank Cup titles. However, recent injuries hindered Pule’s progress at the club, as he was consistently sidelined.

TEBOGO MOLOI BACKS PIRATES’ DECISION ON VINCENT PULE
The 56-year-old has backed the Sea Robbers’ decision to cut ties with Pule. He says the club has been parting ways with some of their best stars in the past, and he doesn’t recall a time when Pirates went on to regret their decision.
“Let me tell you, you know Orlando Pirates is my team,” Moloi told FARPost. “They’ve got a rich history and understand players.
“People have their own opinions. But let me tell you something: I don’t remember a time when Pirates did something wrong. They’ve done it before; they’ve always done it. So the decision they took on Pule is for the best of the club.”
“You always hear people saying different things about the team. Some are saying Relebohile [Mofokeng] must not go, he must stay at Pirates, some saying Vincent Pule should have stayed.
