PSL club assess Ghanaian striker
Ghanaian forward Abdul Rahman has touched down in South Africa as he seeks to secure a move to the Premier Soccer League. The 25-year-old striker is currently training with Motsepe Foundation Championship side Black Leopards.
He arrived the same week as newly appointed coach Maxwell Konadu, who has joined on a three-year deal. Leopards have been beefing up the technical team and squad in pursuit of a return to the DStv Premiership at the end of the season.
The centre-forward is currently in the books of Legon Cities FC in the Ghana Premier League.
WHO IS THE GHANAIAN STRIKER CURRENTLY ON TRIAL AT BLACK LEOPARDS?
Rahman was once regarded as one of the future prospects for Ghanaian football. He was invited for a trial at former Bundesliga side Arminia Bielefeld in 2018. He has also caught the attention of Egyptian clubs Petrojet and Ismaili, which have both invited him for trials.
Rahman was voted best player while he was playing for KMG Sport in 2015. He scored 12 goals in nine matches during the 2016 season for Amidiaus Professionals.
IS ABDUL RAHMAN EARMARKED AS A REPLACEMENT FOR BETHUEL MUZEU?
With the club expressing their willingness to sell striker Bethuel Muzeu at the ‘right prize’, the arrival of Abdul could be a preparation for life without their top marksman. With more interest growing for the services of the Namibian, the club could also be forced to go into the market.
The club managed to score 31 goals in 30 games in the Motsepe Foundation Championship last season. 17 of those goals were scored by the Namibian international in his second season at the club.
In an interview with FARPost earlier this year, club Chairman Chief Thidiela confirmed interest in the 24-year-old, including a club from Sudan.
