AmaZulu FC make major announcements on SPAR & Grindrod sponsorships

AmaZulu FC president Sandile Zungu has made major announcements on the sponsorships of SPAR and Grindrod.

Usuthu enjoyed a partnership spanning over four decades with SPAR, while Grindrod has been the team’s sleeve sponsor since 2021. Zungu confirmed the end of both relationships ahead of the upcoming PSL season.

He was speaking during the club’s press conference on Monday afternoon at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

ZUNGU CONFIRMS END OF PARTNERSHIPS WITH SPAR AND GRINDROD

“There has been a couple of rumours about the sponsorship of SPAR. SPAR has been a critical part of AmaZulu for four decades,” Zungu told the media.

“It’s probably the longest run as a sponsor of the DStv Premiership team or a top-flight team in this country. Our relationship with SPAR came to an end at the end of last season.

“For that, we owe SPAR a great deal of gratitude for having associated with the team and their contribution. Their financial contribution went a long way in helping this brand to run. But all great things come to an end.

“This same goes with Grindrod who were our sleeve sponsor, our relationship came to an end last season. We won’t be replacing them.

“We have great ideas that we will reveal at the end of this month.”

Zungu also revealed that the club would unveil a new sponsor and new signings before the month’s end. He added that some of the incoming players had joined the team for a pre-season camp in Johannesburg.

“We will also be revealing our exciting new sponsorship deal for the team and the new kit for the team.”
