The Brazilians have already played two friendlies, suffering a 1-0 defeat against Dynamo Kyiv and a 2-1 loss to SV Sandhausen. Jody February and Reyaard Pieterse are the only two ‘keepers who have seen playing time in these two games.

It seems Onyango’s experience is still highly valued at the club, even though he has lost his position as first-choice goalkeeper to Williams.

Despite making only nine appearances across all competitions last season, Onyango impressed with seven clean sheets and conceded just two goals.

Apart from Onyango, next season, Sundowns’ technical team will have Ronwen Williams, Pieterse, February and Sanele Tshabalala to pick from for the goalkeeper role.

Piertese and February are also among the players who had their contracts extended.

Further, Goss has reportedly parted ways with the Tshwane-based club, returning to SuperSport on a permanent deal along with the club’s right-back Nyiko Mobbi. And as first reported by SABC Sport, Kegan Johannes will be coming to Chloorkop on a long-term deal.
