Milford FC announce new recruits
Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit Milford FC have announced their new recruits ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Milford, who are coached by former Orlando Pirates DStv Diski Challenge [DDC] coach Mandla Qhogi, confirmed the acquisitions of goalkeeper Bongani Nkone, forward Tshepo Liphoko, midfielder Fanelesibonge Sibiya, forward Sifiso Mdluli, defender Makhetha Tsotetsi, defender Mbonisi Chagi, forward Thabo Xaba, midfielder Cebo Mchunu, defender Vuyo Macina and forward Nqaba Xulu on Friday.
The 10 new signings will be expected to help the club to finish in a better position as last season the team struggled a bit and at some point found themselves fighting to survive relegation.
MILFORD FC SIGN SEKHUKHUNE UNITED DUO ON LOAN DEALS
Nkone and Tsotetsi join Milford on a loan deals from DStv Premiership side Sekhukhune United FC.
Liphoko signed up for the SA second-tier club from the amateur side of Durban Pioneers. Sibiya and Xulu form part of Milford squad from KZN ABC Motsepe League champions Njampela FC.
Mdluli joins the Qhogi-coached side from ABC Motsepe League outfit Mkhambathi FC.
Chagi was recruited from Motsepe Foundation Championship relegated side La Masia.
Xaba was also snapped up from another Motsepe Foundation Championship relegated club, Platinum City Rovers.
Mchunu joins Milford on a season-long loan deal from the Soweto giants Orlando Pirates. Meanwhile, Macina was signed from lower division side Enhlanzeni United.
MILFORD FC EXPECTED TO STRIVE UNDER NEW COACH
Milford are expected to strive in the upcoming new season under coach Qhogi given his impressive track record and extensive experience of the beautiful game.
Coach Qhogi dedicated half of his life to working within the structures at the Buccaneers and was recently working at Babina Noko.
The club believes that Qhogi’s skills in talent acquisition and development will contribute to Milford in the new term.
Qhogi will be assisted by Nhlanhla Hlongwa as the first assistant coach and Nkululeko Buthelezi as the second assistant coach.
