Tim Sukazi discusses potential Ramovic exit amidst Raja interest
TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi has confirmed ongoing discussions regarding the potential departure of head coach Sead Ramovic amidst growing interest from Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca.
Sukazi revealed that he and Ramovic have been engaged in conversations about the move for several weeks.
While acknowledging the potential loss for TS Galaxy, Sukazi expressed his understanding and support for Ramovic’s aspirations, viewing the move as a natural progression for the coach’s career and a testament to his success in elevating the club.
The Rockets boss recalled the scepticism surrounding Ramovic’s appointment, given his lack of head coaching experience. However, his belief in Ramovic’s talent proved prescient, as the shrewd mentor not only steered Galaxy away from the drop but also instilled a winning mentality and developed players like Bathusi Aubaas and Melusi Buthelezi who got a taste of national team action.
Ramovic’s potential move to Raja Casablanca represents a significant opportunity for him to test his skills on a bigger stage. Raja is one of the most successful clubs in Africa, with a rich history and a passionate fan base.
The move would also provide him with the chance to compete in continental competitions, such as the CAF Champions League.
WHAT TIM SUKAZI SAID ABOUT SEAD RAMOVIC’S LINKS TO RAJA CASABLANCA
“It becomes a no-brainer for a coach like that to attract international interest, as Sead Ramovic has done,” Sukazi said.
“He has attracted Raja Casablanca. He and I have been on this subject for probably five to six weeks. We have been discussing it. We’re obviously very close.
“[We’re] weighing and balancing a number of things. Should the situation be such that he has to go and join Raja, that should happen. I’d want to believe that he will become an extension of our football into the Moroccan market, never mind the club. From where I’m sitting, I’ll give it my blessing. He has walked the path for us. It’ll be a loss for us.”
The potential departure of Ramovic would undoubtedly be a blow for the Mpumalanga outfit, but the club is well-positioned for the future, with a strong foundation built under the Serbian coach’s guidance.
The club’s success under Ramovic has attracted significant interest from other teams, with ten players sold to top-flight clubs in the past year.
Ramovic’s coach’s ability to elevate ordinary players to extraordinary levels has not gone unnoticed, and now Ramovic is on the cusp of a move to the Moroccan giants.
