Zimbabwean striker Clive Augusto training with Leopards

Zimbabwean striker Clive Augusto is training with Black Leopards ahead of the 2024/25 Motsepe Foundation Championship season.

The 29-year-old frontman was in the books of Chicken Inn last season in the Zimbabwe Premier League.

Augusto has been in the country before, having had a stint with Maritzburg United, whom he joined back in August 2019 from Chicken Inn, where he had spent eight months and managed to score 14 goals in 17 games.

In the 2020/21 season, he was then loaned out to the now-defunct Uthongathi FC before returning back to his home country the following campaign [2021/22 season].

This publication understands that the Zimbabwean striker has been training with Lidoda Duvha this week.

However, a decision is yet to be made by the Limpopo club on the striker’s future as the new season is slowly approaching.

But it won’t be a surprise to see Leopards conclude a deal with the frontman in the coming days as the club aims to bolster their squad for the new term.

In his football career, Augusto also represented teams such as Ngezi Platinum and CAPS United in his native country, Zimbabwe.

As first reported by this website, Leopards are also assessing Ghanaian striker Abdul Rahman with the hope of securing a permanent deal.

Rahman comes from Legon Cities FC, competing in the Ghanaian Premier League.

Leopards are aiming to fight for automatic promotion to the DStv Premiership as they beefed up their technical team.

The club recently appointed a new head coach, Maxwell Konadu. He joined Leopards on a three-year deal. Leopards believe that they have found the right man in former Ghana national team assistant coach Konadu, who is set to guide the side to the promised land.
