Update on Moseamedi and Kewuti’s futures at Maritzburg United
Judas Moseamedi and Zukile Kewuti are not part of Maritzburg United’s pre-season after parting ways with the club.
The duo remain unattached so far with a few weeks remaining before the start of the new season.
Moseamedi returned to Maritzburg United in midseason after leaving Tunisian club EGS Gafsa in June 2023.
This marked his second tenure with the Team of Choice, having previously played for the club from 2019 to 2021. In his first stint with Pietermaritzburg, he impressed, making over 70 appearances across all competitions. He chipped in with 15 goals and 3 assists.
Judas Moseamedi has also turned out for Mpumalanga Black Aces, Free State Stars [loan], Cape Town City, Stellenbosch FC and Marumo Gallants.
Meanwhile, Kewuti leaves the KZN side after just one season having joined them at the beginning of the season after departing SuperSport United.
Just like Moseamedi, Kewuti’s exit marks the end of his second spell with the Team of Choice, having been with them between 2021 and 2023 when they were still in top-flight.
Kewuti has also donned the shirts of Cape Town City and AmaZulu FC before he served Maritzburg and Matsatsantsa.
MARITZBURG UNITED AND BRIAN HLONGWA PART WAYS
Additionally, the Simo Dladla-coached side has also parted ways with the former Orlando Pirates utility player Brian Hlongwa.
The 28-year-old was with Maritzburg for two years having joined the club in 2022 from Uthongathi FC.
Hlongwa was signed by the Buccaneers in 2016 from the KZN academy. They then loaned him to Real Kings for two seasons before another loan spell with Highlands Park.
He parted ways with them in 2020 and went on to sign for Uthongathi.
