Morgan Mammila shares what’s in his mandate as Baroka FC coach

Baroka FC head coach Morgan Mammila has revealed what’s in his mandate for the next season in the second-tier.

‘Pound for pound’, as he’s well-known, was given the responsibility to spearhead the Limpopo outfit following the sacking of Dan Malesela after the club lost its first match in the PSL promotional/relegation playoffs.

He oversaw the team in three matches, which resulted in two draws and one loss, however, fell short as Richards Bay successfully retained the top-flight status.

Having reached playoffs, Mammila believes minor adjustments are necessary to propel Baroka back to the DStv Premiership.

MORGAN MAMMILA BELIEVES MINOR ADJUSTMENTS ARE NEEDED TO BETTER BAROKA

“It’s just to sharpen them and better them in order to win promotion,” he told FARPost.

“I think team work will help us. And we are one of those teams that have everything for this level.

“We’re training at our own stadium, playing at our own stadium, no disturbance.

“I think we have an upper hand.”

Mammila says he knows what it takes to lift the club to the top-flight having tasted promotion from second-tier when he was still a CEO at Bakgaga Ba Ga Mphahlele.

“I tasted promotion with them when I was the CEO,” he added.

“I think it will be much better for me because when I left them they were in PSL but I came back when they were relegated.

“I think I’ll be the happiest man if I can help the chairman and the team to be back in the PSL.”

He was further asked whether the club’s demands were to take the team to the DStv Premiership.

MAMMILA – ‘I’M HERE FOR NUMBER ONE’

He responded: “It’s common [relegation is wanted].”

“We want promotion, I want promotion and I don’t mind to fight with anything.

“I’m here for number one.”
