Tim Sukazi drops major hint on TS Galaxy’s next head coach
TS Galaxy president Tim Sukazi has dropped a major hint on the club’s next head coach following the exit of Sead Ramovic.
The German-born coach is leaving TS Galaxy to take a new coaching role at Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca for the upcoming 2024/25 season.
Sukazi has given Ramovic his blessings to take a new challenge in Morocco, where he’ll come against his rival Rulani Mokwena. The latter was appointed the coach of Wydad Casablanca a few weeks ago after his abrupt departure from Mamelodi Sundowns at the end of the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season.
Meanwhile, Ramovic joined TS Galaxy in October 2021, and he has turned the club into one of the most formidable sides in South African football.
In the previous campaign, Galaxy came close to winning the inaugural 2023 Carling Knockout Cup after losing 5-4 on penalties against Stellenbosch FC.
Ramovic also guided the Mpumalanga-based side to a sixth-place finish in the Premiership table after they won 12 matches in the league, drew eight, and lost 10.
WHAT DID TIM SUKAZI SAY ABOUT THE NEW TS GALAXY COACH?
With Galaxy preparing for life without Ramovic, the club boss, Sukazi, says they have already found a coach to take over the helm, and he might arrive in the next 24 hours.
The highly-rated mentor, Ramovic, has been a notable absentee from Galaxy’s training sessions as they prepare to face Young Africans SC in Mpumalanga Premier’s International Cup.
“I won’t announce the name until he [coach] lands in the county. I found the coach three weeks ago. I work in anticipation, I’m not a reacter, when I see the situation I become realistic about it. So, it was anticipated that Sead Ramovic will leave,” Sukazi said on Metro FM.
“We couldn’t just sit; we decided to bring a new coach who is coming with a first assistant and a second assistant.
“And when Ramovic came to TS Galaxy, he didn’t have a track record; he had never been a head coach anywhere. The new coach has a UEFA Pro License, it’s a prerequisite to work at TS Galaxy. The coach will probably land in the next 24 hours because he got his Visa a long time ago.”
