New club confirmed as PSL release first division draft fixtures
The Premier Soccer League [PSL] has released the draft fixtures for the Motsepe Foundation Championship, confirming Leruma United as the new club. Leruma take over the status of Marumo Gallants who are now competing in the Betway Premiership.
The league also saw two newcomers who gained promotion during the SAFA ABC Motsepe League promotion playoffs in Upington. Kruger United from Mpumalanga and Highbury FC Eastern Cape join Leruma as the three newbies in the promotional league.
Cape Town Spurs also return to the league after being relegated from the elite league in just one season. Magesi were the champions and will be campaigning in the Betway Premiership next season.
MOTSEPE FOUNDATION CHAMPIONSHIP DRAFT FIXTURES RELESEAD
According to the draft fixtures sent to respective clubs, the league will start on Friday, 23 August. There will be two fixtures on the day with newcomers Highbury hosting Black Leopards at Isaac Wolfson Stadium. On the same day, Maritzburg United will host Casric Stars at Chatsworth Stadium.
On Saturday, 24 August, there will be four fixtures. JDR Stars will host Upington City at Giant Stadium. Kruger United will travel to Hungry Lions in the first match of the season at Suzuki Stadium. Newcomers Leruma United will host Pretoria Callies in their first at TUT Stadium while Venda FC will welcome Milford FC at Thohoyandou Stadium.
On Sunday, Baroka FC will play Orbit College at Global Stadium and AmaTuks will welcome back Cape Town Spurs at Tuks Stadium.
WHEN WILL THE 2024/25 NATIONAL FIRST DIVISION LEAGUE PROGRAMME WRAP UP?
The last day of the season will be on Saturday, 18 May. This means that the PSL promotion playoffs will commence on Tuesday, 27 May and conclude on Saturday, 14 June.
