Marumo Gallants appoint Dan Malesela as new coach
Marumo Gallants have appointed Dan Malesela as their new head coach following Dylan Kerr’s resignation ahead of the new PSL season.
The former Black Leopards coach, Kerr, tendered his resignation today, 30 July 2024.
Kerr’s resignation comes after he refused the idea of co-coaching structure and other management processes. FARPost understands that Kerr was also not pleased with Gallants’ decision to sign players without his input, which is one of the reasons he resigned.
A few hours after parting ways with Kerr, who was only with the club for three weeks after his appointment, Gallants announced the return of Malesela.
This will be Malesela’s third stint with Gallants. He was with the side during the 2021/22 season and also in the 2022/2023 campaign.
According to the club, Malesela’s appointment is “part of Gallants’ efforts to strengthen the technical team and address delays in finalising the squad for the upcoming season.”
Gallants further confirmed that more announcements about new signings and the addition of technical team members will be made in due course.
