Siboniso Conco spotted at Richards Bay: Chairman explains

Richards Bay FC chairman Jomo Biylela has cleared the air surrounding Siboniso Conco’s presence at the club after the player was seen in the Natal Rich Boyz’ attire at the KZN Premier’s Cup.

Conco was among the players released by Maritzburg United at the end of last season, marking the end of a two-year spell with the club. He joined the Team of Choice in the 2022/23 season when they were still in the top flight.

Following Maritzburg’s relegation at the end of his first campaign at the club, speculation emerged that AmaZulu FC were interested in acquiring his services.

However, he stayed put and played his football in the Motsepe Foundation Championship last season.

The 28-year-old Conco was dressed in complete Richards Bay FC tracksuits while the club took part in the KZN Premier’s Cup on Sunday.

Biyela revealed that the Golden Arrows academy graduate is currently undergoing evaluation after joining the team the previous week.

“No, we haven’t signed him, he arrived if I’m not mistaken on Tuesday,” Biyela told FARPost. “And the team next week will train only three days and we are still assessing him.”
