Ronald Pfumbidzai finds new home after leaving SuperSport United

Zimbabwean defender Ronald Pfumbidzai has found a new home after being deemed excess to requirements at Betway Premiership side SuperSport United.

Pfumbidzai was a benchwarmer at SuperSport United throughout the 2023/24 season. He joined Matsatsantsa in July 2023 from Chippa United.

As a result of the lack of game time, the 29-year-old is one of the players who failed to retain their spot in the SuperSport team.

To revive his career and get more game time, FARPost understands Pfumbidzai has joined ambitious Zimbabwean outfit Scottland FC.

Scottland FC is currently competing in the Northern Region Division One, where they are one of the favourites to be promoted into Zimbabwe’s PSL.

Details of his contract have not been revealed. He joins former Kaizer Chiefs defender Lincoln Zvasiya, who is already in Scottland’s books.

Former Jomo Cosmos midfielder Denver Mukamba is also on the team. Club owner Scott Sakupwanya has been luring highly rated players in hopes of winning the promotion ticket.

In addition to Pfumbidzai, the Gavin Hunt-coached side parted ways with several players, including Keegan Allan, Shandre Campbell, and Jesse Donn.

Abdulrazack Hamza, Etiosa Ighodaro, Thalente Mbatha, Phathutshedzo Nange, Selaelo Rasebotja and Siyanda Xulu also left the club.

But for them, the big news has been the sale after 18-year-old winger Shandre Campbell, who moved to Club Brugge in Belgium.

Notably, they brought in Nyiko Mobbie, who can play on both sides of the defence. Experienced forward Vincent Pule also joined them.

Meanwhile, goalie Ricardo Goss returned on another loan spell from Mamelodi Sundowns. They also pinned down Pogisho Sanoka, who was on the books of TS Galaxy.

Meanwhile, they opted against signing Keagan Dolly, who was cut into the wilderness by Kaizer Chiefs. Dolly completed a medicals at the Tshwane outfit and was ready to put pen to paper, subject to personal terms.

However, the deal fell through, and club CEO Stan Matthews said it was coach Gavin Hunt’s decision.
