SuperSport United strengthen squad with three new players
SuperSport United have further bolstered their squad with the signings of Keanin Ayer, Brooklyn Poggenpoel and Thakasani Mbanjwa.
The trio join Gavin Hunt‘s side as they look to challenge for honours in the upcoming PSL Season
Ayer signed a two-year contract with an option to extend for another season as a free agent with the Tshwane outfit.
The 24-year-old midfielder was in the books of Danish first-division side Naestved last season. He also had stints with Sandefjord of Norway and Varberg from Sweden.
Ayer spent six years overseas and managed to play over 85 games during his stay abroad.
On the other hand, Poggenpoel, who also plays as a midfielder, joins Matsatsantsa on a one-year deal with an option to renew.
Poggenpoel, 24, forms part of the Tshwane side from Chippa United, where he featured in 30 games across all competitions in his two-year stay at the Chilli Boys.
Meanwhile, Mbanjwa returns to SuperSport, having left the side during the 2017/18 season to join the now-defunct Bidvest Wits.
At Wits Mbanjwa managed to win the MTN8 title. His experience in the SA football elite league is expected to add value to Hunt’s side as he boasts over 60 PSL appearances.
