What influenced Vincent Pule to join SuperSport United
Experienced winger Vincent Pule has revealed why he opted to join SuperSport United following his departure from the Soweto giants, Orlando Pirates.
The 32-year-old footballer succumbed to a decision to cut ties with the Buccaneers on mutual consent after a six-year marriage with the side. Pule had one year remaining on his contract with the Sea Robbers.
The lack of game time and injuries at Pirates forced the experienced winger to look for greener pastures elsewhere as he aims to play on a more regular basis.
Pule joined Matsatsantsa on a one-year deal with an option to extend for another season.
VINCENT PULE ON WHY HE CHOSE SUPERSPORT UNITED
Pule set the record straight, revealing that he decided to join the Matsatsantsa family because of the team’s structure and the players it has. He further stated that working with coach Gavin Hunt before at Bidvest Wits also contributed to his decision to join the Tshwane giants.
Some of the familiar faces that have played with Pule before include Thulani Hlatshwayo, Ricardo Goss and Siphesihle Ndlovu.
“You know, the structure of the club and the fantastic players that are here who I’m familiar with are one of the factors that made me join the team,” said Pule.
“Of course, I worked under coach Gavin Hunt before at Bidvest Wits, and I’m here to work with him again.
“You know coach Gavin [Hunt] works very hard. He is a person who likes to win at all costs. I think as players is very important to get into that mentality to say we are going to compete for everything. And I think that is what we are going to do this season.”
Pule also expressed his delight to have signed for Hunt’s side and I can’t wait to hit the ground running.
“I’m very excited to be here. I have met some familiar faces when I got here. I’m looking forward to the new season,” he added.
