Sead Ramovic makes honest transfer admission about Puso Dithejane

TS Galaxy head coach Sead Ramovic makes an honest transfer about the club’s attacking midfielder, Puso Dithejane.

The 20-year-old joined Galaxy midway through the 2023/24 season from Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs.

Dithejane was one of several development players released by Chiefs after refusing to fulfil ball-retrieval duties during a senior team match last season while participating in the DStv Diski Challenge.

Following his departure from Chiefs, where he expressed remorse for his actions, Dithejane swiftly became a pivotal figure for the Rockets, contributing significantly to their sixth-place finish in the previous season’s league standings.

In Galaxy colours, the highly-rated midfielder featured in 16 appearances across all competitions, he scored one goal and chipped in one assist last campaign.

Dithejane forged a potent attacking partnership with Sphiwe Mahlangu, Samir Nurkovic, and Lehlohonolo Mojela, who has since transferred to Stellenbosch FC.

Meanwhile, Galaxy also came close to winning the inaugural 2023 Carling Knockout Cup after losing 5-4 on penalties against Stellenbosch FC in December 2023.

With the SA’s junior international set for a first full season with Galaxy, Ramovic has admitted that his charges must expect to lose Dithejane if he continues his rich vein of form.

“It’s not good that we lose players every year, but it’s good that we can give players like Puso a chance. We have other players who have a lot of potential,” Ramovic said.

“But it takes time to adapt and understand how we want to play. We have players like Puso now and [Thato] Khiba. They both came to us as right-backs, but now they are playing in the midfield.

“It speaks to the quality of the players that they can adapt quickly. With Puso, I have to be careful not to hype him so fast, but since I knew him from October last year, I can say he’s an unbelievable player with unbelievable skills. He also lives a great lifestyle; he’s going in the right direction, and he just turned 20.

“I think he’s one of the best players I’ve ever seen in my coaching career at his age, so we are happy to have him in our team, and if he continues with how he’s playing now, It will not be a surprise that we lose a player like him.”
