DONE DEAL: Ex-Arrows defender Ndlovu sign for Maritzburg United

Former Golden Arrows defender Siyavuya Ndlovu has completed a move to the second-tier side Maritzburg United.

FARPost reported two weeks ago that Ndlovu, following his exit from Abafana Bes’thende, was training with the club with the hope of securing a deal ahead of the start of the season.

He joined the Simo Dladla-led side along with former Orlando Pirates striker Thamsanqa Gabuza who has also been seeking a new home after departing TS Galaxy in January earlier this year.

They have been taking part in some of the friendly matches that the club has been playing in preparation for the new campaign in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

They also featured in the KZN Premier’s Cup in Ulundi last week where Maritzburg United defeated Richards Bay FC in the semifinal and went on to lose to Royal AM on penalties in the final.

SIYAVUYA NDLOVU PENS CONTRACT WITH TEAM OF CHOICE

FARPost has been informed that Ndlovu has penned a one-year contract and an option to extend with the Team of Choice.

He returns to the second-tier having spent some time there during the early stages of his professional career, playing for the now-defunct Real Kings between 2017 and 2020.

Thereafter, he joined Abafana Bes’thende and went on to rack up over 50 appearances in all competitions for the Durban-based side, scoring one goal in the process.

Ndlovu looks to revive his career under the guidance of coach Simo Dladla whom he previously worked with at Real Kings.

Meanwhile, this website understands that Gabuza, who arrived with Ndlovu has yet to put pen to paper.

Maritzburg are said to have made more acquisitions as they look to build a strong squad capable of challenging for promotion back to the top flight next season.
