Thabang Matuludi comments on transfer interests from Betway Prem clubs

On-demand Polokwane City FC defender Thabang Matuludi has commented on transfer interests from Betway Premiership clubs ahead of the new season.

Matuludi had a fantastic season with the Rise and Shine last term, featuring in 32 matches across all competitions.

He was one of the players the team kept when they gained automatic promotion from the Motsepe Foundation Championship to the SA football top flight.

Following his satisfying performances with PLK City last campaign, the talented right-back has caught the attention of some clubs in the Betway Premiership.

The clubs that have shown interest in Matuludi’s services include Stellenbosch FC and Kaizer Chiefs.

Given Matuludi’s impressive performances for PLK City, he earned himself a Bafana Bafana call-up for the 2024 COSAFA Cup regional tournament.

THABANG MATULUDI ON TRANSFER RUMOURS

The 25-year-old stated that he had read about the rumours on social media platforms but insisted that he never received an official offer from any team.

He further noted that his focus is on the Limpopo club as he is still have contract obligations with them.

“I’m aware of the rumours because I have been reading about them on social media,” said Matuludi.

“But, no team has tabled an offer for me because my team never told me about any interest from other teams.

“The rumours haven’t distracted me because the things you read from the media remain there because my club never mentioned anything about a possible transfer to any team.”

Matuludi continued: “For now, I’m focused on my team because I’m still contracted to Polokwane City and we are ready for the new season.”

PLK City will travel to Tshwane to face Sundowns in the MTN8 quarter-finals on Sunday, 11 August 2024. The game will kick off at 15:00 at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
