Makhubedu addresses working relationship with Peter Hyballa

Sekhukhune United assistant coach MacDonald Makhubedu has opened up about the working relationship he has with outgoing coach Peter Hyballa.

Hyballa is reportedly on the verge of an exit, barely two months since his appointment. The German coach has reportedly had a fallout with people at the club, including players, due to his approach.

Speculation is rife that Sekhukhune former coach Lehlohonolo Seema is set to return to the hot seat.

Makhubedu was in charge of Sekhukhune during their 1-0 loss to Cape Town City FC on Saturday at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

But Makhubedu couldn’t confirm if Hyballa is no longer with the club, instead citing paperwork as the reason the 48-year-old was missing from the bench.

WHY SEKHUKHUNE UNITED COACH WAS NOT ON THE BENCH, ACCORDING TO MCDONALD MAKHUBEDU

“Where we are sitting, for the 90 minutes that we were playing, I was the head coach,” he told the media. “We have a coach, but it’s the issue of a work permit for now. So, there is nothing wrong with addressing me as the head coach for this game.

“Interim and head coach, at the end of the day, in that 90 minutes, you are the one leading the ship. So he is addressing me for this game. Our coach is still having problems with a work permit.”

ON THE WORK RELATIONSHIP WITH PETER HYBALLA, WHO IS REPORTEDLY ON HIS WAY OUT

“Football is a team sport. We work together, that’s what I can tell you,” explained Makhubedu.

“It’s the same as management; they work together. The same as players, they work together. There is no way there can not be a relationship. So I can not answer further about the coach. What I can tell you is that’s why there is a technical team.

“So we are 10 or 12, including the medical team. So vele [surely] we have to work together. So I can not answer about the coach anymore. I am sorry about that, I am not stubborn but let’s talk about the game.”
