MTN8 semi-final draw confirmed
The PSL have confirmed the MTN8 semi-finals draw after the conclusion of the quarter-finals games on Sunday, 11 August 2024.
The draw was conducted immediately after the tournament’s quarter-final tie between Mamelodi Sundowns and Polokwane City FC at Lucas Moripe Stadium and was live on SuperSport Channel 202 and SABC 1.
The MTN8 quarter-finals kicked off with a bang on Saturday, August 3rd, as defending champions Orlando Pirates secured their place in the semi-finals. In a hard-fought encounter at Orlando Stadium, the Buccaneers emerged victorious over SuperSport United, triumphing 3-1 after an exhausting 120 minutes of football.
Stellenbosch FC were the second side to book the semi-final spot after beating TS Galaxy 3-1 at Danie Craven Stadium on Sunday, 4 August 2024.
Cape Town City FC joined Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 semi-finals on Saturday after edging Sekhukhune United 1-0 at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium.
The final spot in the last four was claimed by Mamelodi Sundowns this afternoon, who defeated ‘Rise and Shine’ 1-0 in extra time to book their place.

THE DRAW PROCEDURE BY PSL
One bowl was used for the draw – containing four balls [with the names of each semi-finalist].
In the first fixture, the first ball out was considered the home team, with the second ball out deemed the away team In the second fixture, the third ball out was also considered the home team, with the fourth ball out deemed the away team.
Both semi-final games will consist of two legs played on a home and away basis.
