Rodney Ramagalela’s take on Sundowns star Peter Shalulile
Former Mamelodi Sundowns frontman Rodney Ramagalela has given his opinion on whether Masandawana can still count on Peter Shalulile to be their main goal-scorer.
The Namibian international struggled to maintain his stellar form from the 2022/23 PSL season last year. Plagued by injuries, Shalulile endured a difficult spell, his goal-scoring touch temporarily dulled.
His goal-scoring output significantly decreased compared to the previous season, netting only 15 goals in 39 appearances across all competitions. Additionally, he provided four assists.
During one challenging period last season, Shalulile went seven consecutive league matches without finding the back of the net.
To bolster their attacking options, Sundowns have brought in two new strikers this season: Arthur de Oliveira Sales and Iqraam Rayners. These signings are intended to provide support and competition for Shalulile up front.
RODNEY RAMAGALELA ON PETER SHALULILE’S GOAL-SCORING FORM
In a recent interview with FARPost, Ramagalela revealed that as a footballer, you won’t have the same seasons, but insists that Shalulile will be back on his feet again because he is a hard worker of note.
He believes that Bafana Ba Style can still rely on ‘Shasha’ for goals in the new season because one bad season doesn’t take away what Shalulile is capable of in front of goals.
“Well, that’s football for you. As a player you should know that you have good seasons throughout your football career,” Ramagalela told this publication.
“With Peter, I know the boy. He will always find a way. The good thing about him is that he works very hard in everything he does.
“I still believe that he will still find his form again and score goals. I really have that faith in him.”
